Bio

I am a Korean-English freelance interpreter
and translator with over 10 years of experience across fields including
defense, IT, engineering, human rights, and education. I hold a Master’s degree
from the Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation at Hankuk University
of Foreign Studies (HUFS), Korea’s top institution for translation and
interpretation training.

My major interpretation experience
includes:

  • Serving as the lead interpreter for the U.S. military base
    relocation project
    (C4I infrastructure), where I facilitated
communication between the Korean and U.S. Ministries of Defense. I handled
high-level meetings, technical discussions, construction coordination, and
document translation involving military communication systems.

  • Providing on-site and consecutive interpretation for
international dignitaries such as the chairman of the Novartis Foundation
during the Hanvit Welfare Association’s grand award event and his visit to
    the National Assembly.

  • Supporting foreign executives at Samsung Electronics in
the semiconductor procurement team, handling translation and
interpretation for SCM, SRM, and VE-related technical content.

In the field of translation, I have:

  • Translated numerous UN and human rights-related documents
for the National Human Rights Commission of Korea, including formal
    reports and international correspondence.

  • Co-translated a published book titled Shift Your Thinking,
and translated various technical and marketing materials.

My core strengths are:

  • Accuracy and context-aware translation

  • Confidentiality and neutrality,
especially in high-stakes or sensitive environments

  • Deadline compliance and adaptability

I am proficient in CAT tools such as Trados,
and familiar with MTPE workflows. I bring a calm, professional presence
to interpretation settings and always strive to deliver nuanced, faithful, and
high-quality language services.
