I am a fluent Spanish speaker, I was born in Peru where I went to elementary school before moving to the United States. I attended high school and college in New Jersey, graduated with a Bachelor in Arts from Rutgers University in Newark, NJ. My field of study is biology, where I took several classes in ecology, botany, anatomy and physiology, physics, chemistry, along with several electives. My main strengths are in the life sciences. I also have done a considerable amount of reading in economics and have developed a strong economic vocabulary as well. My abilities in translation come from volunteer work which I performed during college for the community, translating documents from Spanish to English and also from English to Spanish. Translation from Spanish to English is easier for me, therefore I usually am very quick to complete such translations. Spanish to English can take slightly longer but that's because I have those proofread before submitting my work. I like to finish work as fast as possible and you will find I often complete work well before the deadline, yet always make sure the work meets the highest standards of quality. I hope to become a well established member of the Proz community through recommendations and supporting fellow translators.
