I am a recent college graduate looking to gain experience in the field of translation. My field is Japanese to English translation, with a focus on business terminology. I minored in English linguistics as well, helping to give me a firmer grasp on the details of language and its use in culture.
In 2006 I studied abroad in Hikone, Japan for six months, through the Japanese Center for Michigan Universities. In 2009 I passed level 3 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, and am currently working towards gaining level 2 standing.
Japanese is not simply a profession or skill for me, but a passion. The language is intricate and fascinating, and I have boundless enthusiasm for any chance I have to work with it. Much of my spare time is spent furthering my studies, for fun as much as work. |
