Del total, el 21,8% residía en el norte del país, el 51% en el centro y el 27,3% en el sur. El 45% tenía 45 años o más y el 81,6% se identificaba como católico. Los médicos gineco-obstetras con y sin subespecialidad representaban el 90,4%. Poco más de la mitad terminó su entrenamiento hace más de 10 años (53,8%) y un porcentaje similar (54,5%) ejercía tanto en el ámbito público como en el privado (c).
En total, el 45,7% atendía complicaciones de abortos, el 14,8% practicaba abortos con medicamentos y el 20,6% con técnicas quirúrgicas. Poco más de la mitad reportó estar interesado/a en aprender más sobre el aborto con medicamentos (54,8%) y 35,4% sobre abortos quirúrgicos (Cuadro 1). Translation - English "... This study gathered information provided by professionals originating from all Mexican states except Chihuahua. Of all the respondants, 21.8% of lived in the north of the country, 51% in the central region, and 27.3% in the south; also, 45% of the participants were at least 45 years old, and 81.6% identified themselves as Catholic. Obstetrician-gynecologists with or without a subspecialty represented 90.4% of the sample. Just over half of the participants had completed their training more than 10 years prior to the survey (53.8%) and a similar percentage (54.5%) worked in both the public and private sectors (c).
In total, 45.7% of the sample had treated patients
suffering from post-abortion complications, 14.8% had performed medical abortions, and 20.6% had performed surgical abortions.
