Bio

Fidelitas Managing Director Tobias Rushbrook spent seven years translating for major Japanese and international law firms before establishing his own practice in 2013. Tobias was a finalist in the 2020 JLPP International Translation Competition and is one of a small number of non-Japanese to be admitted as a gyoseishoshi lawyer.

Tobias holds a Master of Arts in Japanese Interpreting and Translation from the University of Queensland and is certified by the National Accreditation Association for Translators and Interpreters.

Interpreting

Tobias is an experienced deposition interpreter and has served
as lead interpreter on many depositions taken at US diplomatic posts. He has also interpreted in the Tokyo District Court in connection with civil
litigation and civil rehabilitation proceedings and has significant experience
at interpreting investigation proceedings (US Federal Trade Commission,
National Tax Authority) and policy discussions (Ministry of Agriculture,
Forestry and Fisheries, other agencies). He also has extensive experience with
commercial negotiations (M&A), IR presentations, and general corporate
material.
