I offer high-quality English>Finnish translation, proofreading and editing services.
I have worked as a full-time freelance translator since 2012, and my specialist fields are technical translations, IT and software, medical translations and marketing. I am also happy to do general translations. My recent projects include operating and maintenance manuals for industrial/plant machinery, vehicles, medical devices and consumer products, UI texts for different types of software (ranging from mobile apps to industrial applications), marketing materials and help texts for consumer products, materials used for recruitment assessments, website content, product information/data sheets and product descriptions for digital storefronts (please see my CV for details of selected projects). I own and use both SDL Trados Studio and memoQ, and I am also happy to use other CAT tools when required.
I am a UK-based native speaker of Finnish, and I have Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English philology from the University of Tampere in Finland, as well as a PhD with studies in linguistics and English language from Newcastle University in the United Kingdom. During my time at Newcastle University, I also worked as a teaching assistant, teaching introductory linguistics to first-year undergraduate students, and contributed to the editing of the Newcastle Working Papers in Linguistics.
