Born and raised in Brazil, I left for the States for my first exchange program in 1992-93. After my junior year in high school, I went back home for college where I graduated with a B.A. in Translation, top of my class. My experience translating started in my first year of college working with direct clients and later on during my internship. I had started teaching English and worked as a translator also for the Translation Center at the school I worked at.
I left a second time for the States, as an au pair, in 2000 and decided to stay there where I worked in Customer Service as an agent, Escalation Rep and Learning and Development Specialist.
I built a beautiful family and after 9 years, we decided to move back to Brazil.
Working with translation led me to the University of São Paulo, where most of my work comes from. Grad students and professors send me their manuscripts to be translated into English and then published.
I also volunteer for Coursera, Translators without Borders and started working for Babelcube.
Translation is fulfilling, fun, exciting and connects people, cultures, and knowledge.
