I graduated with a Joint Honours Degree in Italian and Japanese and am now living in China, working for International Bridge Waseda. As the Head of the English Department there I am responsible for Japanese-English/ English-Japanese translation and interpretation as well as English instruction.
In my free time I like studying languages -I am currently working on Chinese and Latin alongside improving Japanese and Italian. I'm hoping to start learning Korean and Persian within the next few months.
I also volunteer online as a translator, writing subtitles for Viki and translating sentences for Tatoeba.
I am especially interested in dialects as well as minority and endangered languages; as a result I am currently volunteering for the Living Tongues Institute who work to record and protect endangered languages all over the world.
I am planning to go back to university next year to follow a postgraduate course in Translation Studies and am interested in widening my translation experience in many different areas. |
