Bio

I have worked in the IT industry, including in technical translation, for around 40 years.
Initially I trained as a technical translator in-house at a Japanese computer company in Australia. Then I lived in Japan where I founded and operated, for over twenty years, a technical software distribution company. Software localization and documentation translation was part of our business.
I am now based in Sydney Australia.

With that background I bring detailed knowledge of the IT industry to the translation task: ranging from operating systems and communication technologies to technical application software in a range of fields including CAD and engineering.

Lately I have also worked across a wide range of subject matter including insurance and insurance systems, court/inquest documents, business presentations, finance, manufacturing and personal (certified) documents for migration and legal purposes.

I also teach translation technology and T&I Practicum subjects at university level and am a tutor in a variety of translation subjects such as multimedia and certification preparation.
