La Mac Mahon se bautizó así, en homenaje al Conde de Mac Mahon II, Presidente de la III República de Francia. En 1875, se declinó a favor de Portugal, en su contencioso con la Gran Bretaña, acerca de la posesión de la región del sur de la isla de Mozambique, la anterior Africa Oriental Portuguesa. La Mac Mahon se fundó en 1959. En 1990, el Gobierno de la República Popular la clausuró. En 1995, fue refundada como semiprivatizada. Source text - English As full and complete compensation for the rights granted to XXXX (and, with respect to Local Operators, commencing on the date on which XXXX assigns this Agreement (or portion thereof) with respect to one or more countries in the Territory to a Local Operator and such Local Operator actually makes payment of the License Fees with respect to the portion of the Territory designated to such Local Operator (the "Local Payment Date")), XXXX or the Local Operator, as the case may be, shall pay to Programmer, on a calendar monthly basis, a "License Fee" calculated and paid in accordance with the Rate Card attached hereto as Exhibit A, provided that XXXXX or the Local Operator shall have the right to deduct from any License Fees payable any applicable withholding taxes (but not any other taxes, fees or charges) imposed by any government (including any department or agency thereof) in the country or countries in which XXXXX or the Local Operator is distributing the Product on XXXXX's behalf. XXXXX or the Local Operator shall be required to furnish Programmer with a receipt from the local taxing authority with respect to withholding taxes paid if (i) any country within the Territory imposes any withholding taxes with respect to any sums payable to Programmer by Local Operator or XXXXX; and (ii) such withholding taxes are paid by Local Operator or XXXXX on behalf of Programmer.
