A New Zealander living in France since 1999, I
have been translating French literature into English for the past decade. I make
myself invisible to the reader while remaining attentive to the writer and
nuances of a text. I know how to absorb and recreate a textual atmosphere,
bringing English readers a literary experience of the same quality as their
French counterparts. I believe in getting French fiction and non-fiction
authors into the English-speaking market. Their depth of thinking brings a complex subtlety to
their portrayal of reality.
