I have a passion for languages and hold the following qualifications:
BA Hons in French and Spanish from The University of Hull (2001)
Masters in Translation from The University of Sheffield (2002)
Following my studies I elected to gain some strong employment experience before embarking on a career in Translation. The majority of my career has been spent with importers and distributors of fresh produce, working with the major UK supermarkets and retailers, and liaising daily with suppliers across the globe. By taking this path I have been well-placed to take advantage of the opportunity to use my foreign language skills when communicating with suppliers in France, Spain, Portugal and South America, whilst also developing my knowledge of the commercial environment. I have been called upon on several occasions to represent my employer in Spain regarding commercial matters, and also as a Translator/Interpreter.
I am now focused on applying my skills and knowledge to translating.
