Background My background is in archaeology (B.A. Archaeology and Anthropology University of Cambridge 1987 and M.A. in Prehistory Archaeology, University of Sheffield 1994) and I have made use of this in my translation career, translating books, guides, brochures and web sites related to archaeology for museums and publishers in Italy (especially, although not exclusively, in Naples, e.g. National Archaeological Museum, Naples). I specialize in translations in archaeology, art and psychology although I also work in many other fields (business, advertising, medicine). I am an experienced translator and pride myself on being reliable, rapid and precise. Work experience 1994-2006 Teacher of Translation (Italian-English) at the Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici, Maddaloni (formerly Istituto Superiore Interpreti e Traduttori) (Caserta, Italy). 2004-2011 Teacher of Translation (Italian-English) for translation and interpreting courses (including courses carried out in conjunction with the Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici Carlo Bo in Milan) at the St Peter's Language School, Naples, Italy. Since 1994 I have worked as a freelance translator, working for publishers specializing in art, archaeology and architecture in Italy (Electa Napoli, Guida, Arte'm,Paparo in Naples, Allemandi Editore in Turin), universities in Italy (Department of Psychology, Secondo Policlinico di Napoli and the Faculty of Psychology, Università di Milano Bicocca) and the UK (Department of History, University of Exeter), the Tavistock Clinic in London and many others.
