During my experiences in the tourism sector and in the export department of a company in the engineering industry I found out that I wanted something else. I enjoyed translating the instructions for the various articles the company produced and the business correspondence, but I noticed that I needed a better background for doing this work and decided to enroll at a university for translation. I soon started a collaboration as freelance translator with an Italian translation agency and “grew up” with them. I received a very efficient feedback on my translations which helped me to improve my style and technique and, as the years passed by, I became more and more specialized in the medical field.

I still work nearly exclusively for this agency and recently translated IFUs for a dialyzer and the appropriate dialysis systems, oxygenator, oxygen concentrator, automatic blood cell count/CRP measuring apparatus (from English into German) and for various medical products (e.g. coronary stent, wound dressing, needle electrode, PTA Catheter, electrosurgical pencil -from English into German) as well as instruction leaflets (from Italian into German) and the IFU for a medical instrument and related software (automatic clinical analyzer) from Italian into German. My recent non-medical translations include various translations of hotel offers etc. for a travel agency (IT-DE), safety data sheets (EN-DE), IFU for a Day & Night Camera (EN-DE), integrations for the IFU of a forklift (IT-DE) and utilization and maintenance norms for an electric bus (IT-DE).

I usually work with Trados Studio 2009, but have also used MemoQ and Across as translation tools.
