Opinion on the annual accounts
The information in these documents has been checked in accordance with professional standards applicable in France. These standards require examinations to be undertaken to enable us to evaluate the integrity of the information in terms of consistency, reasonableness and appropriateness. These assurance procedures are limited in scope, and consist principally of analytical techniques, and seeking explanations from the persons responsible for compiling the information.
We certify that the annual accounts are, in terms of the accounting rules and principles applicable in France, in order and fairly stated, and give a true and fair view of the profit or loss for the year, and of the financial situation and assets of the company at the year end.
Basis of opinion
In the context of our assessment of the accounting rules and principles adopted by the company, we found the accounting methods and the information supplied in the notes to the accounts to be appropriate, and we satisfied ourselves that they were correctly applied.
Making such assessments formed part of our approach to the audit of the annual accounts taken as a whole, and therefore contributed to forming our opinion.
Specific tests and disclosures
We also undertook certain specific tests required by law, in accordance with professional standards applicable in France.

I am a Scottish Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Tax Practitioner, and started in accountancy in 1974.
I qualified with Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG), then worked in various commercial jobs before setting up my own accountancy firm in 1992.
I also have tax writing experience, having been involved in updating Tolleys Taxwise I for a number of years.
I switched to translation in 2005, gaining the Institute of Linguistics Diploma in Translation.
