Source text - English QUIK-TUBE" rigid fiber building forms are the ideal method of pouring cylinder-shaped concrete foundations for deck and porch supports and other load bearing applications. QUIK-TUBE" forms can also be used to create attractive bases for lamp posts, fence posts, basketball net posts, mailbox posts and other post-setting applications. Such forms may also be required by frost line building codes.
QUIK-TUBE" forms allow you to place the strongest foundation possible. The inner walls of the form are waxed. This holds in the concrete's water content, which results in maximum curing and strength build-up. Consider that when placed in a hole or dirt form, water can be sucked out of the concrete by the surrounding soil. This shortens curing time and reduces concrete strength. For this reason, many local building codes now specify the use of forms for all footers and foundations used in load-bearing applications.
QUIK-TUBE" forms are available in 83, 103 and 123 nominal diameters. Each tube is 42 long and can easily be cut to length using ordinary power tools. They can be left in place or stripped away after the concrete has cured for 24 hours. For the easiest removal and the smoothest concrete finish, apply a release agent to the inside of the forms.
Pressure-treated wood or metal posts can be secured to the footer by anchor plates or bolts embedded in the concrete. The posts themselves can also be embedded in the concrete to a depth that ensures complete support. The exact methods acceptable for load-bearing applications such as decks are subject to local building codes.
For example, in areas prone to termite problems, the code may specify the use of pressure-treated lumber attached to the footer using anchor plates. The elevation of the footer may be several inches above grade. These steps keep the lumber from direct contact with the soil, a condition that reduces the likelihood of termite problems.
Flag, basketball, and playground equipment poles may require embedding in concrete to certain depths, often up to 1/3 overall pole height. Check local codes and/or pole manufacturer recommendations.

Incluso, dijo uno de los chicos, la niña ya hablaba inglés e incluso había viajado con sus empleadores a Estados Unidos y Europa. Pero no cabe duda de que la niña valía, por su propia figura, sin las imitaciones ni los disfraces que la poderosa señora de la casa le daba, después de usarlos, como era costumbre en esa sociedad. Y era cierto que uno de los obreros de la construcción estaba loco por ella, pero ella no le hacía caso. Con la amabilidad que tenía en el palacio donde trabajaba, no estaba de acuerdo con andar con obreros patirrajados ni boquisucios, porque al salir del jardín, le gritaban todo tipo de piropos, incluso algunos más altos y apagados, como aquel que sonaba: «Si como caminas cocinas, chola hasta el concolon me como». O uno peor: «No menees tanto la cuna que despiertes al chichi». Una vez, se giró y gritó: «¡Vulgares!». Era el tipo de «cariño» de los chicos.
«¿Sabes?», dijo uno. «Creo que esa chica está haciendo algo».

—¡Je... je... je! Sufres, ¿verdad? Pero claro, sé que la patrona viaja en Mercedes Benz; haciendo algo, tu novia se está volviendo loca: "sapeale" (mira a alguien de forma indiscreta) al estilo de cerrar la verja, como una gran dama.
—Estás "picado" (se preguntó), eso es todo, total, porque te había ignorado.
—Y además, te lo hizo a ti, pobre Romeo.
El paisaje urbano del elegante barrio de la patrona de Adolfa Pio, frente a cuyo chalet construyeron el edificio de apartamentos, cambió radicalmente, un viernes trece en punto, a las diez y media de la mañana. De repente, llegó un coche oficial de la Clínica de la Seguridad Social y un funcionario, vestido de blanco, bajó y tocó el timbre.
Adolfa entreabrió la verja, con cierto aire de extrañeza.
¿Vive aquí la trabajadora Adolfa Pio? —preguntó el funcionario. —Sí, señor, soy yo misma: ¿en qué puedo ayudarle?
—Necesitamos hablar con usted.
—En eso, a través de una ventana del ático, la patrona miró y se preguntó: ¿a quién buscan?

Translation - English Adolfa Pio, the Vanderbilt Arias domestic worker. She was a beautiful Chola (nickname for Indian girl in Panama), who at the stroke of serving; for years, in the millionaire family, and little less than spoke and walked with the same grace of the patroness.
