Source text - English Genital herpes infections are discussed in Chapter 11. The dif
ferential diagnosis of genital ulcerations appears in Table 10-2 (p. 314).
In developed countries, most patients who have genital ul-
cers have either herpes simplex virus (HSV), syphilis, or
chancroid. The frequency of each differs by geographic area
and patient population. Herpes is the most prevalent. A pa-
tient may have more than one of these diseases. Not all geni-
tal ulcers are caused by sexually transmitted infections. Each
disease is associated with an increased risk for human im-
munodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. A diagnosis-based
history and physical examination is often inaccurate. All pa-
tients who have genital ulcers should have a serologic test for syphilis and diagnostic tests for herpes. Tests include:
•Rapid plasma reagin (RPR) or Venereal Disease
Research Laboratories (VDRL)
•Darkfield examination for Treponema pallidum
•Culture and/or antigen test for HSV
•Culture for Haemophilus ducreyi
•Biopsy if treatment fails
•HIV testing if ulcers are caused by T. pallidum or H.
ducreyi
•Consider HIV testing for patients with HSV
HIV testing should be performed in patients who have
genital ulcers caused by T. pallidum or H. ducreyi and con-
sidered for those who have ulcers caused by HSV.
Treatment of genital ulcers is often desirable before test
results are available. Treat for the most likely diagnosis. If the diagnosis is unclear, treat for syphilis or for both syphilis and chancroid if the patient lives in an area where H. ducreyi is a significant cause of genital ulcers. Even after complete diagnostic evaluation, at least 25% of patients who have genital ulcers have no laboratory-confirmed diagnosis.

Source text - English The cornea and the lens make up the refractive surfaces of the eye. The cornea provides approximately two thirds of the refractive power of the eye, and the lens approximately one third to form an image on the retina. Reduced visual acuity will result if the axial length of the eye is either too short (i.e. hyperopia, also called hypermetropia) or too long (i.e. myopia) for the refracting power of the cornea and lens. Visual acuity is reduced if the refracting power of the cornea and lens is different in one meridian than in another (t.e. astygmatism). These optical defects can be corrected by the use of spectacles, contact lenses, or, in selected cases, refractory surgery. A pinhole placed directly in front of the eye will narrow the effective pupillary aperture and thereby minimize the blurring induced by a refractive error. Use of a pinhole device will allow an examiner to estimate a patient's visual potential with proper spectacle correction.

Рожницата обезбедува приближно две третини од рефрактивната моќ на окото, а леќата приближно една третина за да образува слика врз мрежницата. Острината на видот ќе се намали ако должината на оската на окото или е премногу кратка (пр. хиперопија, исто така наречено хиперметропија) или премногу долга (пр. миопија) за рефрактивната моќ на рожницата и леќата. Острината на видот исто така се намалува доколку рефрактивната моќ на рожницата и леќата се разликуваат една од друга за еден меридијан (т.е. астигматизам). I am a professional, utterly devoted to what I do best - TRANSLATION. Growing up in a bilingual environment, and having a natural gift for languages and writing, I am not your translator by an accidental twist of fate. My entire life seems to revolve around it.
Today, I am a graduated translator of English into/from Macedonian from the University Ss. Cyril and Methodius, Faculty of Philology "Blazje Koneski" in Skopje, Department of Translation and Interpreting (PIT). I also hold a Masters degree in Conference Interpreting from the same university.
During and after graduation in 2005, I started working as a translator, both independently (as a freelancer) and as an in-house translator for a translation agency, and afterwards for a publishing house. Through those experiences my skills have developed a great deal, in terms of the languages I work with and the terminology I have struggled with.
Therefore, I can say without hesitation that I have specialized in various fields such as Medicine, Law, Economy/Business, Technical, Government/Politics, Computers/It and other. My major specialization is Medicine due to the fact that since 2009 I have focused on translating expert medical books and all sorts of medical reports, medical findings, laboratory findings, medical histories, etc. and continue to work regularly in this field.
As an official Certified Translator and Interpreter since 2007 to 2013 (certified by the Ministry of Justice of R. Macedonia), and today as a NAATI Accredited Professional Translator for English to/from Macedonian (since Feb 2015) in Australia, I have also translated a vast number of death/birth/marriage/school certificates, diplomas, contracts, various other legal documents.
The time I spend on my professional development does not end there. I try to keep abreast of all there is to know, and all that is going on in the language industry.
