English to Italian: Commento mensile fondo asiatico
Source text - English Asian stockmarkets performed strongly during September as oil prices fell, while inflationary pressures across the region showed increasing signs of weakening. A general perception that the US can coordinate a “soft landing” for its economy also provided a positive backdrop for Asian equities. Lower oil prices also provided a tailwind for equity markets with strong gains for many of the net-oil importing countries in the region. Macroeconomic news continues to remain robust with exports showing no signs, so far, of being adversely impacted by a US slowdown. Domestic demand has been more mixed, however, with strong demand in the two largest economies in the region (China, India), along with Singapore. Elsewhere, however, demand has been weaker, but still positive, in Korea, Hong Kong and Thailand. In terms of overall positioning, the fund continues to favour companies that are positioned to benefit from strengthening domestic economies, such as financials and domestic consumption stocks. Our largest overweight sector position is within Financials, where we favour Real Estate and Insurance, along with banking stocks. The banking sector continues to act as a good means of providing indirect exposure to increased levels of domestic consumption.
