Bio
I'm
a Finnish freelance translator with over 14 years of general translation
experience and 12 years of Life Sciences translation experience both as an
in-house translator and as a freelancer. I work mainly from English to Finnish (my native language), but occasionally also from French.
Apart
from translation and proofreading, my service portfolio also includes Machine
Translation post-editing, post-DTP linguistic checking, and localised software
linguistic testing and bug fixing. I'm competent with several different CAT
tools, including most Trados products, Passolo, several versions of Alchemy Catalyst and
a number of browser-based solutions, eg. XTM, and I’m willing to learn new tools
as necessary.
I
started specialising in Life Sciences translation in 2010, and currently I have most
experience is in the
following subspecialities of the field: medical imaging, fetal and
patient monitoring equipment, other
medical devices, dentistry, and laboratory equipment and supplies. In
addition
to documentation and marketing jobs, I also regularly translate
software. As a new speciality, I’ve recently branched out into clinical
trials and EMA (European Medicines Agency) documentation.
