I have started over ten years ago translating articles for my colleagues. Since then I have come a long way. I have completed Ph.D. in Chemistry and done one year post-doc at the University of Bologna. During that time I had plenty of occasions to work in multinational environment on many interesting topics such as: computer simulations, material science, nanotechnology (as a novel method of treatment and as a potential health risk). At that time I also started to work as a freelance translator working on articles, MSDSs, operating instructions and many other, non-specialist jobs.
At one point I have started to enjoy it, looking for that one perfect word describing something, thinking how to phrase something as shortly as possible, while still keeping it accurate, and loving language, more and more. That is why I had a change of heart - translations became for me more important than doing science.
There are few other things I enjoy: cuisine, photography, tv series and science and I am really passionate about translations concerning them.
