Bio

I have 30 years’ experience in the fields of education and translation.

After completing a degree in Business Studies with French and German at the University of Swansea (United Kingdom), I passed the PGCE, the Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Bath, after which I taught for a year before seizing an opportunity to move to Paris to work as a tourist advisor in constant contact

with the public in person and by telephone to promote Great Britain as a tourism destination. As well as advising clients, I carried out numerous administrative tasks, and was responsible for writing the content of the organisations website in French.

Following this position, I took on the role of project manager and translator in a translation agency in Sophia Antipolis in the South of France. My role was to serve as an interface between the clients and translators, and to take on translating and proofreading tasks in wide range of fields.

I then decided that it was time to become a freelance translator. This work that I have been doing for over 20 years requires, beyond purely linguistic prowess, great attention to detail, organisational skills, thoroughness, and resilience to adapt to the constant changes taking place in the market, to comply with the demands of international clients as well as the ability to continually learn, whether it be in the field of languages, IT or in the accomplishment of administrative duties (accounts, tax declarations, marketing and

much more).

I have both French and British nationalities. My native tongue is English, though I have an almost native command of both oral and written French, as well as maintaining a high level of understanding of German.

I hope that my qualities and experience will arouse the interest of a potential future clients.
