I have transitioned from the world of software localisation and technical documentation back to my roots, which lie in films, TV and multimedia. My love for words and accessibility I spread in subtitles (translation), CC, SDH/HOH) and voice-over translation, as well as transcription, mainly in Plain Language. I work on films and streaming content – be it fiction or non-fiction (documentaries) as well as video casts and podcasts.

Formerly, I specialised in technical as well as marketing translations especially within the fields of IT and automotive but also in other technical fields. Translations included all kinds of technical documentation (user's manuals, brochures, data sheets, etc.) as well as image and product brochures, websites, white papers and other marketing and corporate communications mainly for software solutions and hardware devices. I also cover software localisation.
My IT favourites included AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and AAL (Ambient Assisted Living), eyetracking, data security & data protection, IT security such as user authentication systems (multi-factor authentication) and storage solutions.

Within the automotive field (ranging from the luxury sector to the construction/utility branch) I localised and reviewed, for example, infotainment systems, translated marketing and technical information and press releases. 

As an editor and proofreader I still work within the academic field by editing/proofreading doctoral theses and articles mainly within inclusive education, social sciences and the humanities. 

I have many years of work experience within the (multinational) film and TV industry - as part of the production as well as the editorial team. Activities directly concerned with the field of language included among others transcription and translation of interviews, contracts, general correspondence, etc.

I hold an M. A. in Sociology and Scandinavian Studies from the University of Hamburg, spending a year at the Department of Literature and Cultural Studies at the University of Lund, Sweden, and also hold a certificate of higher education from the University of East London, UK, in Media Studies with Visual Theories. 

I am member of tekom e.V. (German professional association for technical communication and Information-Development) and it goes without saying that in order to keep up to date I regularly participate in seminars and workshops.

Early 2021 I received my Master's degree at the University of Strasbourg in Technical Communication and Localization including the tekom certificate "Technical Communicator", which I received in June 2020.

I am a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies CPACC from the IAAP, hold a Certification as User Experience Designer as well as in Project Management.
