Bio
I have been bilingual and bicultural in French and English since the age of six, and learned German and Spanish from secondary school onwards. In search of a challenge, I elected to study law at university. I have however always been employed on the strength of my languages, and have translated for money for the last 20 years. Only in the last couple of years, however, did I follow the path my life had been taking unbidden, and made translation my full-time occupation.

Following stints on the London financial markets, in the media, a political umbrella organisation, and in executive search on the Paris financial markets, I trained as a teacher of modern languages to high school students in 2000. Teaching as a job was wonderful, but sadly the stresses and demands were not so wonderful! I decided to use the skills I'd acquired over years of taking translation jobs on an ad hoc basis, coupled with my degree subject and professional experience, and crystallise them into one glorious career.

I therefore bring to my translation a range of professional experiences, a thorough grounding in legal language and drafting, and a solid ability to understand and translate complicated legal and financial concepts. Thanks to my MA in Literary Translation, I can even turn out flowery prose and poetry for you! My guiding force will always be the client's request.
