Source text - English In September 2008, the XXX held yet another session on Africa’s development whose outcome confirmed the UN Special Adviser for Africa, Chieck Sidi’s statement that “Africa’s development problems are everybody’s problems”. Unfortunately, such global efforts to find solutions to the continent’s development problems have met with little successes, and as admitted earlier in July 2000 by the former UN Secretary-General, the Ghanaian Kofi Anan “over the last decades, the UN system has been involved in so many African development initiatives that I cannot remember what the acronyms stand for. Unfortunately, few of them have been effective”.
Translation - French En septembre 2008, la XXX a tenu une nouvelle session qui a confirmé la déclaration du Conseiller spécial des Nations Unies pour l'Afrique, Cheikh Sidi, selon laquelle « Les problèmes de développement de l'Afrique sont les problèmes de tous » . Malheureusement, de tels efforts coordonnés pour résorber les problèmes de développement du continent ont connu très peu de succès. Par ailleurs, comme l'a admis l'ancien Secrétaire Général de l'ONU, le Ghanéen Kofi Annan, en début juillet 2000, « Au cours des dernières décennies, le système de l’ONU a été impliqué dans de nombreuses initiatives africaines de développement au point où je ne suis pas sûr d’avoir retenu ce à quoi ces acronymes renvoient. Malheureusement, peu de ces initiatives se sont avérées efficaces ».
