For anyone who is interested, here is some info about me:
I am a qualified German attorney - having also practiced law myself - and am therefore extremely well-prepared for legal translations. In addition, I have spent 4 months of my law studies in the US and five weeks in the UK, where I could also gain invaluable insights into the Common Law System and English legal terminology.
I have been growing up in Germany with a British stepmother and so I am bilingual English/German. I furthermore am meanwhile also CELTA-qualified as an English Language Teacher and have worked in this capacity for the last weeks in Paris and at a summer school in Cambridge and will continue to work as an English language teacher in Paris in the future.
As my interest are rather varied, I am also interested in Humanities, Literature and Music. I have also completed part of a BA in Humanities with the Open University in the UK, which I am studying part-time as a distance student. I will be finishing this degree within the next years. As part of this degree I also studied Social Sciences and English literature, in which I am very interested and thus also able to do literary translations.
I have furthermore worked for two years as a bilingual (English/German) Personal Assistant at Hoffmann Eitle, a large international patent law firm, for a partner mainly involved in pharmaceutical litigation in their chemical department and have therefore also an extended experience in patents, patent litigation, medicine, science and chemistry. I have also experience of working as a German/English translator freelance and also did a lot of translating while I was working for Siemens in Munich in the Corporate Risk, Department.
