I am the proud founder of Updated Words.  Passionate about my job. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, I moved to Sydney, Australia, in 2006, where I completed my qualifications and started my career.

Certified Translator:

I am a NAATI Certified Translator from English to Portuguese (CPN1CX65R), Chartered Linguist and Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL CL 26759) and Member of AUSIT (8104). I am a strong advocate for association affiliation as a way to maintain high standards and ethical values in the industry. I specialise in Aviation and Tourism. I worked for an airline for 8 years, helping the airline with several aspects of its business, including the translation of its  Constitution, brochures, leaflets, official letters, press releases and other important documents. My other field of expertise is the Certified Translation of various types of documentation. Since the start of my career, I've been helping clients with their applications to the Portuguese Consulate in Sydney.

My strong commitment to the profession and to my clients is what moves me. I am aware of the challenges this industry faces, and I am committed to continuing to work hard to overcome those challenges and provide better solutions for clients and peers.

Mentor:

I've always been committed to my profession and helping the industry grow and thrive in this very challenging environment. So, in 2022, when an opportunity to become a Mentor at the AUSIT Mentoring Program presented itself, I took it with open arms. Being a mentor has been a dream of mine since I started my career. I am passionate about sharing my experience and using it to empower the new generation of translators.

I also started my own Mentoring Program at my online school, Updated Words Learning.

AUSIT Portuguese Language Division:

In 2024, I started another very important chapter in my career. I am the Deputy of the AUSIT Portuguese Language Division. A division of AUSIT was created to encourage cooperation and solidarity between members.

The aim is to create connections between professionals working with the

Portuguese Language, helping with all sorts of Professional Development

initiatives.

My Online School:

As a part of my commitment to the profession,

I also created an online school, where people can buy my Business Course for Translators or be part of her Mentoring Program, including weekly meetings and master classes.
