English to German (Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz) Spanish to German (Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz) English to German (German Courts)
I am a graduate translator for the English and Spanish languages, my native language is German.
In March 2011 I was publicly appointed and sworn as a translator of English by the Regional Court of Tübingen, Germany. Therefore I am now able to offer certified translations from and into English as well.
The services I offer are translations and certified translations (English-German-English only), proofreading and editing of source texts and translations from Spanish into German.
As a native speaker of German, I choose to focus on working into my native language to ensure the highest quality of the target text: A translation that reads as if it had originally been drafted in German.
I specialize in the following fields:
Legal texts - e.g. contracts, agreements, general terms and conditions, claims and counter claims and all other sorts of legal documents
Business and financial texts - e.g. audit documents, balance sheets, financial statements, annual and quarterly reports, excerpts from the commercial register
But... as most texts usually cover more that only one specific field, I have added a list below of some of the fields I have encountered while translating, to give you an impression of the broad range of topics I have already worked with and gained some experience in.
Solar energy, photovoltaics and renewable sources of energy
Virtualization and cloud computing
Software development
Gerontology
Electronics ranging from special speakers for pregnant women to electrical installations in a thermal power plant
Music, tourism and gastronomy
Geology
Mechanical and civil engineering
Medicine and health services
Public transport
Marketing, cosmetics and many more.
You would like to know a little more about my education? Please read on...
From 1996 until 2002 I studied at FASK Germersheim, a department of the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz in Germany. My language majors were English and Spanish and I focused on legal translations.
I received my graduate diploma (German degree "Diplom-Übersetzerin") in September 2002 and started out as a freelance translator in 2003.
In 2005 I joined the translation agency KERN AG as a full-time translator and project manager, where I developed my skills as a project manager.
This led to my leaving the company in 2006 and joining transline Deutschland as a full-time project manager until December 2008.
Even though I worked as a project manager, I never lost touch with translating as performing quality checks on translations and working with the tools Trados and Across used to belong to my everyday duties.
At the end of 2008 I left transline and went back to working as a full-time freelance translator in September 2009.
I am a member of the BDÜ, the largest professional association of German translators.
This is a short sample list of translation projects from English and Spanish into German I have completed:
