I grew up in Germany, where I lived until I obtained my university entrance qualification specialising in English (translation, literature, social geography) and German.
I have lived in English-speaking countries since and have completed my undergraduate degree in Ireland with a QCA of 3.26 / 4.00. As part of this degree I spent one semester in France studying applied languages (French and Spanish). I obtained the DALF C1, which is the highest level of the DELF/DALF programme and allows me to take up study at any French university without having to undergo a language entrance examination.
Besides the experience in translation which I have gained in school and college, I interpreted in any context where different cultures met. For example, I have worked in a German national park with English-speaking tourists and in a language school in Dublin with incoming students not having any English. |
