I have worked as a free-lance translator and interpreter since 1967. I coordinated and taught the Translators' and Interpreters' courses at ETIMIG (Belo Horizonte-MG) from 1975 to 1984. I taught English, Literature, Translation and Interpretation at UFOP (Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil) from 1984 to 1996. Then taught the same subjects at UFMG (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), until 1999. I taught at IBMEC-MG 2002-2005. Since 2005, I have been Manager of the Translation Division for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in São Paulo, Brazil. I manage a team of 30 translators and reviewers, plus a team of 45 interpreters.
I have interpreted hundreds of events, such as FIGO (Gynechology and Obstetrics) symposium in Rio de Janeiro, Zubin Mehta's press conference, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross conference, INSEAD, Fontaineblau, Fance, etc. I managed four large projects for DTA (DeAgostini Translation Services), in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, both for WordPerfect and Novell.
