Born and raised in Canada, a country with two official languages (English and French) and the first nation to adopt a multicultural policy in 1971, I have a deep appreciation for the importance of cultural pluralism, diversity in language and the global necessity for communication.
My passion for Spanish began as a youth residing in Caracas, Venezuela and culminated with a Bachelor of Arts in the Spanish language. I pursued post graduate studies at the University of Western Sydney, and received a Graduate Diploma in Translation, with mention on the College of Arts 2009 Dean's Merit List.
My background also includes an undergraduate degree in early childhood education, with a focus in childhood disorders. I have strong customer relation skills through employment in the airline and tourism industries. I enjoy reading and writing immensely, add languages into the mix, and translation is a perfect marriage. Previous residency in Great Britain, the USA and now Australia has resulted in my sensitivity to and awareness of differing styles of English.
Through AUSIT membership, I continue to improve my skills as a translator by regularly attending lectures, workshops and seminars.
My services assure high standards, efficiency, attention to detail, meeting client requirements, and a willingness to work in all fields of Spanish>English translation. |
