Born in Montevideo to an English-speaking family, I was educated in English schools in Argentina and Uruguay and got my BA-degree as Consul at the School of Economics and Business Administration, University of the Republic, Uruguay. Later I attended graduate courses in economics and statistics at the New School for Social Research, New York.
My experience includes 12 years as an economist and statistician at the Centre for Development Planning, Projections, and Policies, United Nations Secretariat, New York, and translation and interpreting for the Consulate of Uruguay in New York and the Mission of Uruguay to the United Nations. I was later an in-house translator at the Translation Company of America and did a lot of freelance work. I sat the Spanish Translators' examination at the UN and was posted by them to UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), Nairobi, Kenya. Since I returned to Uruguay I have been a freelance translator into English and Spanish with clients in several countries and international organizations. My passive languages have been French, Italian and Portuguese. I have translated several books and done conference work.
I am talented, responsible, on-time and reliable. I have a solid cultural background and have proved to be reserved.
