Durante la manovra di scarico a terra del contenitore vi è una condizione di potenziale insta-bilità della macchina, quando nella fase finale della manovra gran parte della forza peso si trasferi-sce oltre l’ultimo assale posteriore: in questa situazione il rimorchio tende a ruotare attorno all’ultimo asse stesso e a far sollevare così il timone da terra. Stessa circostanza occorre nella fase iniziale della manovra di carico cassa, essendo la configurazione del sistema delle forze sulla mac-china identica al caso precedente.
L’aggiunta di un cilindro frontale accresce notevolmente la stabilità dell’insieme trattore – rimorchio in queste manovre, rendendo più rigida la zona dell’occhione ed in sostanza aggiungendo al sistema il peso del trattore che contribuisce a trattenere a terra il rimorchio.
All’atto dell’aggancio del rimorchio al trattore, collegare il tubo dell’impianto idraulico di comando del cilindro stabilizzatore 3 al distributore del trattore ed estendere completamente lo stelo del cilindro stesso (figura 6.15). Fissare la catena 2 al 3° punto 1 del trattore da un lato ed alla for-cella dello stelo cilindro dall’altro.

During the container unloading operation the vehicle reaches a moment of potential imbal-ance when, in the manoeuvre final phase, most of the weight leans on a point beyond the last axle: in this position the trailer might tend to pivot around the last axle thus lifting the drawbar off the ground. The same situation may occur during the container loading initial phase, since both opera-tions present an identical force distribution.
The addition of a front stabilizer cylinder increases noticeably the stability of the tractor – trailer system during these operations: the stabilizing cylinder stiffens the towing eye area and util-izes the tractor weight to keep the trailer on the ground
After having hooked the trailer to the tractor, connect the stabilizer cylinder hydraulic pipe 3 to the tractor’s flow control and extend the cylinder stem to end of run (drawing 6.15). Fasten the chain 2 to tractor’s third point 1 on one side and to cylinder stem fork on the other side.
