Mary is a native English-speaking U.S. citizen, with a J.D. from an accredited law school in the U.S. and a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from a national liberal arts college in the U.S. She has been admitted to the bar in Washington, D.C. and in the states of Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota, and has been a member of the American Bar Association since 1980. She practiced law as a foreign legal consultant with the global law firm of Baker & McKenzie.
