We'll have dinner at 9pm on the Thursday evening of the week of the ATA conference in Seattle. Dinner will be at Toi restaurant, which is a few blocks away from the Westin. See: http://www.toiseattle.com
Note that the powwow will begin immediately after the SDL/ProZ.com Translator Awards Event to be held at the Westin. All those attenting the ATA conference are invited to attend this prior event, too. ( Nominations and voing are going on now - http://www.sdl.com/asp/products/nominate.asp )
Note that you don't have to attend the ATA conference to attend this powwow. (The powwow is free, you just have to pay for your own meal.)
I'm planning to attend. I'm just confused about how I get back to my sister's afterwards: I'm staying with my sister, who lives in Seattle, and I'm not sure how late the buses run.
updated note: Henry, Toi sounds great and I hope it will be Thursday night, because the Dutch translators dinner is Friday night at 8:oo pm -- can you perhaps join us?! It's Thai/Indonesian at Typhoon Restaurant), plus there is the ATA exam early Sat.
I am from LA but I'd like to hear from experts. If I can arrange to visit Seattle, it would be the first Powwow for me. I am not sure if I can really participate but please let me know further information. I would like to try my best to be there.
I will be at the ATA conference, and will try my best to attend this meeting. I'd also like to take this opportunity to have my identity verified, and meet some colleagues.
A major project got in the way and I won't be able to make to the Powwow . But since it's only a short trip across the border for me, I might be able to meet some of you on Fri or Sat.
I am considering venues within 5 minutes or so of the hotel. I'll keep you all posted. Looking forward to meeting, Evelyna!

Dianatwin, if you need a place to freshen up you can stop in ( will have accomodations for two days there), especially if you are traveling early to avoid the traffic. This invite is open to all. just let me know. Looking forward to meeting fellow ProZ members.

Hi all! TRADOS/SDL has invited ProZ.com to join in on their "Flagman 'Academy' Awards Night" and we agreed. We'll be serving drinks and hors d’oeuvres at that event, but not food.
So we can either reschedule the powwow for another night, or just agree to have a late-night dinner (at 9:00pm, for example).
Sorry for the last-minute change in plans. What would you all prefer?

The restaurant Ti, a few blocks from the hotel, is offering our dinner and drinks in our own room (2nd floor), with space for up to 50 people, at $25/person. What do you all think? I can post the menu details if this is not too expensive.
