According to Engstroms it can also be control lever and I think this is a better match for this sentence.

: I have to agree that in this particular context (Slutblecket) Engström's 'control lever' makes more sense than anything to do with voltage, though elsewhere that would be the obvious choice. Or could it be something like "tensioner"?
