I am translating the service record of a soldier from the Spanish Civil War, in several places it puts a date followed by the word "marginal".
Example: "el 15 de julio marginal"
Can you tell me what this means or the term in English for it? Thanks!

: Correct, however not "year", but "date".

Año, para ser más preciso.

: I can't see it in your reference, but this sounds convincing. Toni's "date" is incorrect, though, and you don't need to keep saying "of the year indicated at the margin". You can just leave it out.

Es para ser más preciso, incluso se puede decir "at the LEFT margin (of the page)"
