Spanish term

investigación

Spanish to English Other Journalism
The context is a comparison of various news sources available in Colombia. The term "investigación" is frequently mentioned as an advantage of international broadcasters and internet sources over domestic media--which is generally described as more superficial, lacking depth.

Does "investigación" refer to background research for news stories, or investigative reporting?

Discussion

Yvette Neisser Moreno (asker) Feb 9, 2007:
Thanks Luis and Sofia for your comments!
Sofia Ortega Feb 6, 2007:
Ok, I was thinking on some kind of news reports or documentaries, but in this case I think it actually refers to a research
Yvette Neisser Moreno (asker) Feb 6, 2007:
context Well, the problem is that in most cases the word "investigacion" is simply part of a bulleted list of advantages of certain media. But I did find one quote, maybe this will help--“Hay análisis e investigación más profundo”.
Luis Javier Otoya Feb 6, 2007:
I believe it refers to background research for news stories.
Sofia Ortega Feb 6, 2007:
could you please paste some of the context? that´d be helpful, thanks
