I am translating a birth certificate from Spanish into English. The person signing the certificate uses the initials Br before his name. Can someone tell me the meaning of these initials?

Lo más probable es que efectivamente quiera decir bachiller, loq ue quiere decir que completo sus estudios de secundaria

Por eso lo del país, Yvonne. En Uruguay, cuando alguien escribe Br. XXX, se entiende que es un estudiante universitario que aún no se ha recibido, salvo en la Facultad de Química, donde es un título intermedio que se otorga al culminar el ciclo básico.
