Spanish term

obras inducidas

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering Laying train tracks
Discussing a metro line in Mexico City by a Spanish construction company, it will be "Un total de 4,5 km de vías incluyendo cola de maniobras, zona de transición y obras inducidas."

I've seen "complementary works" and "induced works," but the latter sounds really odd to me. Is it a technical term I've never heard before?
Thanks guys!
