Sometimes the company has to take the unfortunate decision of the dismissal of an employee on account of the gross misconduct of the employee. This is indeed a grave reason for the dismissal of the concerned employee. Each company works on its own policies and the gross misconduct of an employee comes in the violation of the company policies and thus the company has every right to terminate the employee.
In a dismissal letter, the sender is supposed to mention the reasons for termination in detail. The reasons will vary from situation to situation as per the company policies.

I think I should write the answer as "dismissal for gross misconduct", (without "letter" between "dismissal" and "for")
