German term

Angussteile

German to English Tech/Engineering Metallurgy / Casting recycling
This is a recycling machine which will shred "Angusteile". It's in a catalogue of recycling machines/shredders. I have no further context than that, I'm afraid.

Discussion

Sonja Marks-Terrey (asker) Jul 15, 2009:
Thanks Thanks everyone. I have found references to recycling metal sprue so I'm going with that.
itla Jul 11, 2009:
Angussteile Are you talking about plastics or metals? Metal would be remelted and plastic would be shredded. In both cases, you're fairly safe with "sprue" as suggested by MoTrans.
Ellen Kraus Jul 10, 2009:
As I couldnt find a single ghit for machines shredding lugs, I consulted Google Pictures to find my supposition backed that lug is a synonym fof jig or retaining jig (in German < Haltevorrichtung > )
