German term

Bauteilübergang

German to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering passive houses
This word comes up frequently. I can 'see' that it's a joining of two structural components, but what is the correct term? Butts?

(An den Stößen (Bauteilübergängen) ergeben sich ansonsten Fugen, die kaum luftdicht ausgebildet werden können)...

(component) or (section) interface

A Bauteil can also be used to distinguish between two separate buildings, building parts, blocks or sections abutting one another. An Übergang could e.g. be a bridge between 2 blocks, where movement joints would be required.
