French term

"Acquisition native"

French to English Medical Medical: Health Care CT scan
This is in a medical report of a patient that has undergone a thoracic and abdominal CT scan:

I have not heard this term before "acquisition native" - are they referring to a scan made prior to the injection of the contrast media? Also "jointives" - is the term "overlapping"?

All help much appreciated !Thanks

Discussion

Dr Sue Levy (X) Aug 26, 2005:
I think the term "native" comes from digital technology - cf native image - the "unadorned" image in its original format provided by the device.

I think this just means "a comprehensive or thorough scan".

Only one reference to it on the net:

"jointive" not "overlapping" but "contact" i.e. touching (one meeting the next), sequential

Hope this helps.
