French term

causé

French to English Law/Patents Finance (general)
Part of the same loan agreement as the last time:

Tous les billets à ordre seront libellés dans la devise choisie et seront causés "valeur en representation de l'ouverture de crédit consentie en date du (ce jour)"

I have never seen 'causé' before - the only idea I had is that it would mean something like 'la cause en serait ...'

shall bear thereon

Hello,

seront causés = porteront la mention...

All the promissory notes shall be drawn up in the chosen currency and shall bear thereon "amount reflects approved credit line availability opened this day, such and such a date."

I'm not sure about the meaning of what comes after "causés", but I took a guess.

It has to be legalese-sounding.

I hope this helps.
Example sentence:

The license shall bear thereon the name of the driver.

From fr.answers.com
être causé
verbe passif

* En parlant d'un effet de commerce, avoir une cause énoncée.

I think you'll have to change it round a bit - e.g. "must have stated on them"
