French to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Systems, Networks Secure transmission
Part of a document specifying how certain undertakings must obtain and use an approved electronic signature certificate

The signature is installed on the workstation

We're talking about encryption here, so I believe it should stay "signature". It has nothing to do with "signing-in" to anything.

Each person has their own signature on their own workstation.
Note from asker:
Many thanks - amd the ref. is entirely a propos, as it is about Cryptonit, the software mentioned in my text

Thanks Victoria!
neutral rkillings : The electronic signature is *stored* on the workstation along with the signing software, so that the user can do the signing (affix the signature to the document) without being connected to the network at the time.

Signing-in is done on the workstation

la signature = signing-in (computer speak)
