French term

enseigne/entité juridique

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
As in one of the tasks that a credit manager takes on, as described on her CV:
•Distinction entre l’**enseigne** de la grande distribution et l’**entité juridique** dans la recherche de la solvabilité

grande distribution = supermarket chains/distributors
enseigne = corporate name?
entité juridique = legal name?
If I can settle upon what one is, I am sure that the other will follow. Thanks again for all your suggestions! This should be the last one for the day.

Note 1 enseigne occurred several times in Kudoz questions - I saw the following suggestions: corporate name, brand name, trade name; I think "name" has to be part of it.

I think it is better to use \"name\" in both cases for more clarity and differentiation between the two concepts

For enseigne, other options could be business name or trade name

business (or commercial) entity/legal entity

I think this captures it better. They're talking about entities, not names.

Cheers,
