the sacred things, or place, or object
I never encountered "the sacred" as a reference at a person. In most cases, it means either the sphere of everything holy and sacred (e. g. "the Divine") or a holy place or an object (a halidom, a sacral object or place).

Russian word \"svyatoy\" when reffering to a man, is \"a saint\" in English. This word (\"sacred\") means SOMETHING held in very high esteem.

the context will determine whether it is noun.
Is there a period (.) after "the sacred" ? If it is a sentence in its own right, then perhaps it could qualify to be a noun. In which case, it could refer to anything that is an object of reverence - a human being, a place, an entity.
