English term

relieve

English Art/Literary Religion
If you would stand acquitted at the last day, trade with your talents for God’s glory; lay out yourselves for him; honour him with your substance; ***relieve*** Christ’s members, that you may be acquitted. He that had five talents traded with them, and made them five talents more; ‘His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant.’ Matt 25:21.

agree Alexander C. Thomson : Yes, although the Biblical meaning is more specific: to physically help believers in need (with food, clothing, comfort, etc.). As in the old saying, "For this relief, much thanks."

agree William Howden : Yes. And "Christ's members" should, of course, be understood as other Christians, "members of the body of Christ" (1 Cor 12: 12-30)
