Describe how, out of the many thousands of Jewish young people sent to the world capital of those days, Daniel and a few otheres had been selected by Nebuchadnezzar's civil service for special training at the king's court. It was part of the imperial policy to hand-pick and train exceptionally able young nationals to administer the colonies, and also to enrich the cultural understanding of the king's government.
They were to study the literature and language of the Chaldeans. At the end of three years' of intensive academic and physical education they were destined to enter the king's personal service.
Babylon - the king's ***retraining programme***.
[...] That magnificent capital city, with all its might and modern development, could easily have stolen Daniel's loyalty and devotion from the God he worshipped. [...]Study in the world's most advanced academy, and the experience of Chaldean life and cuisine would surely cause him to forget his family and former ties, including his religion, and adopt the new culture as his own.
Dreams of the future might easily have danced before Daniel's eyes. Having become a senior trainee in the king's court, he would have guaranteed the highest kind of office in the empire. He might well have pictured himself returning home as governor of the whole region.
This dream was a real possibility. There was only ne condition, which seemed easy enough to fulfil - students were to do as they were told.

programa de reeducación
Me parece más apropiado que "rehabilitación", que es la otra opción que se me perfila.
