"cake" es el polvo compacto (compact powder) que hay dentro de los viales (no hay nada más dentro de éstos, hasta que no se introduzca el líquido para reconstituirlos -agua estéril o suero salino fisiológico, dependiendo de cada preparado-; en España, los enfermeros -responsables de preparar y administrar la medicación- no empleamos el término torta, sino "polvo compacto" (de los viales).
